Nebraska NExtgen Receives National Young Agents Award

Big “I” Nebraska NExtgen was honored with the Outstanding Political Involvement Award at the Big “I” National Young Agents Leadership Institute (YALI) in Baltimore, Maryland.

The national award recognizes NExtgen’s efforts to engage young insurance professionals in legislative advocacy at both the state and federal levels and develop the next generation of industry advocates.

This is the first time the Nebraska young agents group has won an award in one of the main Outstanding Young Agents Committee Award categories.

Throughout the 2025-2026 year, Nebraska young agents raised $6,750 for InsurPac, exceeding their $2,800 goal; 13 young agents participated in Big “I” Nebraska’s Day at the Capitol; and five young agents traveled to Washington, D.C., for the Big “I” Legislative Conference, where they joined fellow association members in meetings with Nebraska’s congressional delegation.

The October 2 recognition was one highlight of a busy three days in Baltimore. Big “I” Nebraska young agents joined association leaders from across the country for sessions focused on leadership, workplace culture, AI and more, while exchanging ideas with other state Young Agent programs.

Outside the conference ballroom, attendees toured M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens, and took a boat cruise through Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

NExtgen brought home plenty of new ideas to put into action in Nebraska, and we look forward to another great year of learning, building community and growing our Young Agent network!
